Learn the secrets of magical storytelling…
Discover the magical woodland world of the Finders of Silverthorn Forest. Meet Tuftorious Snook, collector of lost objects, and discover his collection of found treasures.
We’ll go on an imaginative journey to the heart of Silverthorn Forest to uncover a lost time capsule and unlock the treasures inside. You’ll discover everything you need to know to make your own time capsule at home.
Packed full of audience interaction this author event is perfect for children aged 6+.

Tailored
I offer engaging author events for schools and festivals, including magical props and creative writing challenges.
The event can be tailored for assemblies or class groups, and usually lasts around 60 minutes. Virtual visits via zoom are available.
Interactive
I aim to make sure events are inclusive, engaging and inspiring. My assembly events are suitable for KS2 and I’m happy to run shorter workshops for EYFS & KS1.
We’ll workshop some creative questions during the event, and students will leave prepped for follow up classroom creative writing activities.
Fun
The magical woodland world of the Finders has something engaging for everyone. From passionate bookworms to more reluctant readers.
Get ready for magical props and lots of audience participation! There will be a chance for a Q&A at the end.
“Rachel was an absolute hit with our Year 4 cohort. Her talk was both entertaining and inspiring, and she skilfully drew the children into her story world by dramatising key scenes and encouraging audience participation. Children and adults alike were buzzing from the experience, and keen to get stuck into Rachel’s books. Thank you, Rachel, and come back soon!”
Dragon School, Oxford
“The children loved the event and are really enjoying the book. The preview copy has become a class copy and is being very enthusiastically borrowed.”
Harris Primary Academy, London
“What a magical session, full of fun, imagination and some amazing magical objects to intrigue and amuse, including a wish popping toaster… Rachel Chivers Khoo was entertaining and inspiring. The children all loved it (as did the adults)!”
Stepping into Stories Festival, Herne Hill
“The boys thoroughly enjoyed the event and relished the opportunity to ask Rachel questions in person. Having heard engaging excerpts from the books on the day, many are now engrossed in their copies, and some have even been inspired to begin penning their own magical stories!”
